The College of Science Hosts Its First Annual Student Scientific Conference at the University of Zakho

The College of Science at University of Zakho successfully organized its first annual scientific conference dedicated to students, marking a significant step toward enhancing academic and technical competencies among undergraduates.

Held under the supervision of the President of the University of Zakho, Dr. Diyar A. Saeed, , and chaired by the Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Diyar A. Bleej, the conference took place on April 30, 2026, under the title “ASSC: The Annual Senior Science Conference.” The event was attended by university vice presidents and several academic staff.

The conference aimed to advance students’ scientific and technical capacities and featured a diverse range of academic activities and thematic sessions. It commenced with an official opening speech delivered by the Dean, emphasizing the importance of scientific research and the development of practical competencies essential for future careers.

A central component of the conference included seminars and workshops addressing contemporary scientific and technological topics. Notably, discussions focused on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in enhancing learning processes, as well as modern research methodologies that support academic innovation.

Another key segment of the conference concentrated on career readiness and professional development. Workshops provided practical guidance on writing effective professional CVs and offered insights into identifying suitable employment opportunities in both local and international labor markets.

The conference concluded with a closing speech by the Dean of the College of Science, who expressed appreciation to the organizing committees and participating students.
